The Baxter family have farmed at Sarre since 1836. The farming operation has been a central part of the community during this time and is committed to profitable arable farming whilst protecting the environment.
The Baxter Family have lived and farmed at Sarre since 1836. Up until the 1980’s the G.G. Baxter meat business was based at Sarre. After the business was sold this site saw the creation of Chantry Park residential development which has been a wonderful addition to the village. Baxter Farms main operation is profitable arable farming over more than 1000 acres of Kent farmland. Much of this land is high quality and used for growing wheat, oilseed rape, peas, beans and potatoes. The farm is a central part of the community at both Sarre and Monkton. Baxter Farms are committed to profitable arable farming whilst protecting the environment. More recently offices at Sarre Business Centre, residential lettings and renewable energy schemes have modernised the business.
Baxter Farms are committed to renewable energy where possible. We have undertaken three solar energy schemes during 2012-2014. These extensive projects have helped reduce our significant energy costs. We have installed these in a responsible and sympathetic way.
